Open the Ritual using the Basic Ritual Opening. When the opening is complete, address the Angels and say:

Angels, we thank you for walking with (name) and for bringing him/her to this point in his/her life safely.

Ask the young person the following questions, waiting for his/her response before asking the next question:

Are you, (name), ready to dedicate yourself to God?


Are you willing to accept all of the responsibilities of adult spirituality?


Are you ready to allow our teachings and the teachings of our Lord Jesus to govern all your thoughts, words and deeds?


Are you ready to accept full responsibility for your thoughts and actions?


Are you ready to accept that any harm or help you give will return to you?


Are you ready to stand here, in this sacred place, before us and before God, and to declare openly your choice of this lifepath, discarding your old life and beginning a new one?

Bright Blessings upon you, sister/brother (name). May you never hunger and never thirst.

Ask the young person the following question.

Are you ready to assume your first duty as an adult member of this congregation by closing our circle for us?

The young person should answer "yes" and then proceed with closing the ritual using the Basic Ritual closing. When all is done, turn to the people with the young person at your side and say:

I present to you, sister/brother (name). Welcome him/her into our circle.

It is done.
